The project aim is the design and development of a system, which, by leveraging innovative technologies of spatiotemporal interconnectivity of multiple spaces and events of environmental, cultural and touristic interest, discovers and semantically unifies innformation from various sources, providing the final user with the capability of organisation and implementation of comprehensive touristic routes and tours. A complex internet platform and apps for smart mobile devices (smartphones, tablets and smart glasses) were developed as part of the system implementation.

The smart glasses (Microsoft HoloLens) app that was implemented during the project, was presented at the ICOM international conference in Prague in 2022 (you can download the presentation εδώ). The app uses the mixed reality technology, so that through physical image recognition, the digital content is shown to the visitor through the special glasses. The app was placed at the Ioannina Museum of Silversmithing as part of the project, so that museum visitors get acquainted with the project as well as with mixed reality technology. Visitors could trace points of interest on the digital landscape of Northern Greece, which appeared as holograms on the physical structure installed at the museum, and get more information for it.
