Research and innovation projects

TETRAGON has undertaken - under EPANEK-NSRF 2014-2020 and in collaboration with Greek research centers and universities, as well as with other companies - the implementation of six research projects. Five of them are part of the Single State Aid Action for Research, Technological Development and Innovation "Research-Create-Innovate" and one of the "Bilateral and Multilateral Research & Technology Cooperation between Greece and Germany". These projects, co-funded by the European Union and national resources, concern the development of innovative products, applications, methodologies, services and technologies.

 

ORCHESTRA, Digital platform for interactive cultural experiences:


The project’s subject is the design and development of an integrated digital platform, for the compilation, reproduction and sharing of digital interactive experiences in the cultural sector. The platform is commercialy targeted to cultural institutions/entities, such as libraries, museums, cultural foundations, conservatories, children recreation multipurpose venues, schools and so on. These institutions will be able to exploit it and thus have the chance to create their own cultural interactive experiences and distribute them to third parties.

INNOVEXPO, Developing innovative applications for enhanced and interactive expositions:


The project's subject is the development of innovative applications which incorporate scientifically substantiated content and their original interconnection methodology, aiming for the enrichment and interactive presentation of exhibitions. This is a complex product that will target museums, cultural centers, tourism organizations, as well as Greek and international productive and entrepreneurial entities which create or host exhibitions or are active in that specific subject.

e-VISION, Improving the autonomy of people with vision impairment through computer vision and synthesised voice communication:


The project's subject is the development of a system that will assist and enhance the autonomy of people with reduced vision, which will enable the identification of persons and objects. A sensor array (camera, handphone etc.), properly embedded to the user's glasses, will be connected to the computer vision system that will be run on his/her mobile phone and will inform him/her about the visual content via the acoustic diode.

e-ΧΝΗΛΑΤΗΣ: Intelligent spatio-temporal integration of envrinomental, cultural and touristic routes:


The subject of e-χνηλάτης project (meaning e-tracer in Greek) is design and development of a system that, exploiting innovative technologies for spatio-temporal  interconnection of multiple sites and events of environmental, cultural and touristic interest, will discover and semantically consolidate information from multiple sources, providing the end user with the ability to organize and implement integrated touristic routes and tours. In the framework of the system implementation, a complex online platform and applications for smart mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, smartglasses) will be developed.

VIRTUAL DIVER, Development of an integrated interactive platform providing virtual underwater experiences  for the culture and tourism industries:


The project's subject is the development of an integrated interactive platform for exploring natural (augmented reality techniques) and virtual (virtual reality techniques) environment in areas of touristic and environmental interest (eg unique geomorphological structures, shipwrecks, sunken harbors and cities, marine parks, NATURA areas, etc.), in order to enrich travel experience and promote specific forms of tourism.

BIOMUSE, The genomic heritage of ancient Greece: Bringing digitalised human bio-history to museums:


Subject of the project is the production and analysis of a series of 50 genomes of prehistoric and historic humans, who lived in Greece from the Mesolithic to the Byzantine period, the creation of “individuals' biographies”, based on the genomic phenotype and the macroscopic study of humans, and the transportation of these reconstructions to existing or new museum exhibitions and cultural venues. The research program aims to preserve and digitize valuable cultural and biological heritage data, distributing them to the general public.
